◆ The Nutcracker
New York City Ballet is preparing for their annual holiday tradition at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center – George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, a production that premiered almost seventy years ago.
Showcasing more than 150 dancers musicians plus 125 children from the School of American Ballet, The Nutcracker is set to Tchaikovsky’s score and features scenery by Reuben Ter-Arutunian, costumes by Karinska, and most spectacularly, a Christmas tree that grows to 41 feet.
”New York City Ballet and George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker are an essential part of the holidays in New York, and as the Company celebrates its 75th Anniversary this year’s performances of the beloved production feel especially meaningful.” – Katherine Brown, NYCB’s Executive Director
