I am sure that if you are reading this, you have seen The Nutcracker. Well, have you ever wondered just how the Sugarplum Fairy actually came about getting her wings?

Wonder no more. Sean Hayes of Will & Grace fame along with his husband Scott Icenogle have written a book that answers that question for you. Plum, the couple’s debut as authors, is published by Simon & Schuster and features lovely illustrations by Robin Thompson. It tells the story of Plum, an orphan who wants so badly to save Christmas after learning that the coming snowstorm will prevent presents from being delivered on Christmas Eve. She sets to making gifts for all of the other orphans and placing them under their pillows.

Something unexpected happens, though, when after eating some cake left by a magician Plum finds herself in the Land of Sweets. There, with a little bit of help from Christmas magic, perhaps many of her dreams will come true.

In the video below, Hayes and Icenogle demonstrate their teaching skills when they are called in to substitute a ballet class. Enjoy!
