Along with the cancellation of Carmen this season, Tulsa Ballet announces plans for the final program titled The Celebration which will be performed live at the Cox Business Convention Center on May 13 and 16, 2021.
Tulsa Ballet announces postponement of Carmen
With health guidelines still too restrictive to organize and present large scale productions, the world premiere of Ma Cong’s Carmen will have to wait a bit longer.

The result is The Celebration which will feature works from over the past twenty years which have helped establish Tulsa Ballet‘s reputation as a world-class ballet company. They include Going for Baroque (the first piece Angelini commissioned for his company in 1998), Onegin and works from Val Caniparoli, Ma Cong, Nacho Duato.
Expanding on their diverse repertory is the company’s first dive into the hip hop realm. Jennifer Weber, choreographer of The Hip Hop Nutcracker, will create a piece for Tulsa Ballet that will premiere on The Celebration program.
“I believe this retrospective performance will be the perfect way to close an imperfect season,” says Anglini. “We can look back at the past while celebrating the light at the end of the tunnel with something fun, fresh and trendy!”
