Alabama Ballet 2024-2025 Season
The Alabama Ballet 2024-2025 season, under the motto of “Evolution: A New Era Begins”, captures the company’s progression in four programs of classical ballet and contemporary dance.
The Nutcracker (Alabama Ballet is one of only eight companies in the world licensed to perform George Balanchine’s version) and the Birmingham premiere of Artistic Director Christopher Stuart’s Peter Pan are the full-length story ballets that are bookended by the mixed repertory that open and close the season.
“At Home: Art in Motion” is a collaboration with the Birmingham Museum of Art and will feature works inspired by artists Hayward Oubre and John Rhoden, the latter who is a Birmingham native.
“Unbound: A Series of Ever-Evolving Performances” features Stuart’s homage to Johnny Cash, Under the Lights, alongside a world premiere by American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer James Whiteside.
“This season promises to be a transformative journey, filled with creativity, innovation, and artistic excellence. We look forward to sharing this extraordinary season with you and hope that you will join us in celebrating this new era of artistic achievement and innovation.”
