The New Jersey Ballet 2025-2026 season, Maria Kowroski’s fifth year as the company’s Artistic Director, demonstrates the growth it has seen since she has taken the helm.

The company will be the Resident Ballet Company of Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) in Morristown, New Jersey as well as incorporate more live music at their shows due to a strengthened collaboration with New Jersey Symphony.

“Being the Resident Ballet Company at MPAC is an incredible honor. It allows us to bring our work to a wide and diverse audience in a venue that truly supports the performing arts at the highest level.

We are especially thrilled to deepen our partnership with New Jersey Symphony this season. There’s nothing like the energy of live music – it transforms the stage and elevates the dancers.

The opportunity to bring that synergy to more of our performances is a major step forward for the company and a gift to our audiences.”

Allison Larena, President & CEO of Mayo Performing Arts Center, adds:

“MPAC is thrilled to be hosting two of New Jersey’s most renowned arts organizations in an all-new collaboration. As The Nutcracker has proven, the partnership of a world-class ballet company and an acclaimed orchestra creates a fulfilling, dynamic and memorable arts experience for all who attend.”

New Jersey Symphony’s President & CEO Terry D. Loftis comments:

“New Jersey Symphony is thrilled to expand our partnership with New Jersey Ballet bringing even more performances that feature New Jersey Symphony musicians to MPAC in Morristown. This expanded collaboration ensures that both our great institutions immerse even more audiences to dance and music.

New Jersey Symphony’s mission is to connect with diverse communities throughout New Jersey, and this partnership makes certain we deliver on that promise.

The season opens with Visionary Voices and sees the return of Lauren Lovette’s Jewel Box, Justin Peck’s In Creases, and Harrison Ball’s New Ancient Strings. Following is the perennial Nutcracker accompanied by the New Jersey Symphony.

2026 begins with Icons of America, a program that will be performed at MPAC and New Brunswick Performing Arts Center. George Balanchine’s iconic Serenade, a poetic and visually sweeping ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings; Justin Peck’s In Creases, which debuted at New York City Ballet, is a contemporary work set to a propulsive score for two pianos by Philip Glass; and Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, is a ballroom ballet set to recordings by Frank Sinatra.

New Jersey Ballet will also present The Sleeping Beauty at MPAC in March 2026.
