Miami Ballet 2024-2025 Season

For the Miami City Ballet 2024-2025 season, Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez has curated five programs that honor the company’s tradition of performing George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins works while also embracing the innovation of some of today’s most influential choreographers.
The season opens with Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, an enchanting tale of love renewed with a distinct Miami flair set to Mendelssohn’s score; the dancers explore the spellbinding underwater world of the Florida coast, using Michele Oka Doner’s transformative costumes and sets.
It is followed by the choreographer’s traditional Nutcracker.
For its Winter Mix program at the start of 2025, Balanchine continues on the bill with Walpurgisnacht Ballet, in which two dozen women display their virtuosity, and La Valse gets a company revival. These two ballets are complemented by Robbins’ intimate Concertino accompanied by a suspenseful Stravinsky score, and a world premiere by Pam Tanowitz.
Robbins’ Glass Pieces open the Spring Mix, followed by the two company premieres on the bill: José Limón’s solo work Chaconne which is set to music by Bach and Alexei Ratmansky’s abstract Pictures at an Exhibition.
Annabelle Lopez Ochoa will a full-length Carmen for the company to close the season, inspired by George Bizet’s opera.
