CINDERELLA
Choreographer: Sir Frederick Ashton
Sergei Prokofiev’s powerful score will fill Boston’s Citizens Bank Opera House for twelve performances when Boston Ballet returns with a revived production of Sir Frederick Ashton’s Cinderella.
Last performed by the company in 2019, this year, Cinderella audiences will be witness to recently purchased sets and costumes from The Royal Ballet designed by Toer van Schayk and Christine Haworthby, respectively.
“Cinderella offers the best of classical ballet with Ashton’s signature demanding choreography, a beloved storyline, opulent sets and costumes, and an iconic score,” says Mikko Nissinen, Artistic Director of Boston Ballet.
The three-act ballet features a fairy godmother and season fairies who present gifts to Cinderella to help prepare her for the ball.
