Compañía Nacional de Danza (National Ballet Company of Spain) is preparing for a 10-performance run of a new staging of La Sylphide at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid.

Six different casts will tell the story of impossible love between James and the sylph as set by Petrusjka Broholm in a production featuring sets by Elisa Sanz, costumes by Tania Bakunova, and lighting by Nicolás Fischtel. Artistic Director Joaquín De Luz‘s dancers will be accompanied by the Fundación Orquesta y Coro de la Comunidad de Madrid, conducted by Daniel Capps y Tara Simoncic.

Compañía Nacional de Danza will take La Sylphide on tour to Seville from January 11-13, 2024.
