Kansas City Ballet prepares for the opening of their 2024-2025 season at Muriel Kauffman Theatre, Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland), which will feature live accompaniment of Matthew Pierce’s s score by the Kansas City Symphony.
“We kick off our exciting new season with an invitation to fall down the rabbit hole and experience ALICE (in wonderland), back by popular demand ten years after its KC premiere,” stated Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney.
Inspired by the characters created by Lewis Carroll, Webre’s adaptation of the surreal Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass includes cast members clad in Cirque du Soleil designer Liz Vandal’s costumes dancing both classical and contemporary movement. They are set amongst scenes designed by James Kronzer and lit by Clifton Taylor’s original design recreated by Trad A. Burns.
