The annual season-opener highlights new and recently created works. This year, the popular triple-bill will feature brand new works by choreographers Penny Saunders and Adam Hougland, as well as a piece that will push the artistic and technical boundaries of our second company, Tulsa Ballet II: Yuri Yanowsky’s The Sun Sleeps.

Don Quixote is based on the classic novel by Miguel de Cervantes. The story follows the quest of the Don and his squire, Sancho Panza, to find the love of his life while battling imaginary dragons, menacing mills and anyone who gets between him and his beloved Dulcinea.

Following two years of record-breaking sales, Val Caniparoli’s and Ma Cong’s energetic and colorful production of The Nutcracker will delight Tulsa audiences of all ages once again.

Audiences can give their regards to Broadway with the return of Strictly Gershwin! This popular production returns after performing to sold-out audiences in 2018. It promises to be the entertainment event of the year, with a huge cast, guest vocalists, guest tappers, and of course, the incomparable music of George and Ira Gershwin.
Romeo and Juliet | March 21-24, 2024

Intensity, drama, and passion combine with Romeo & Juliet. Tulsa Ballet’s version of Shakespeare’s tragic love story features choreography by American superstar choreographer Edwaard Liang, commissioned exclusively for Tulsa Ballet in 2012. Dance Magazine celebrated this production, saying Liang’s “inventive choreography served the story with flair.”

The 2024 Signature Series will start a new tradition for Tulsa Ballet; sharing exclusive works created for the company’s major fundraising event: Icons and Idols. First up is Roman Holiday, a work that superstar Italian choreographer Luciano Cannito created for Icons and Idols 2020. The second piece of the program will be Dancing in the Streets by Emmy Award winning choreographer Joshua Bergasse. Rounding out the program will be the return of Celestial Bodies by Andrew McNicol, which was originally commissioned and created to celebrate Tulsa Ballet’s 65th anniversary.
