With registration on their website, the American Ballet Theatre 2021 Summer Celebration is free to stream tonight at 7:00pm EST and will be available to watch through September 15, 2021.
The dancing portion of this fundraising event will feature recently filmed works by Silas Farley, Helen Pickett, and James Whiteside as well as excerpts from Alexei Ratmansky’s Bernstein in a Bubble and Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Romeo and Juliet.
The celebration will be hosted by actress, singer, and songwriter Renée Elise Goldsberry and will open with remarks from The First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden. At this moment, ABT Heroes Dr. Robert Galvin, the company’s medical advisor throughout the pandemic, and actress and ardent support Jennifer Garner will be acknowledged.
The company states that
“Summer Celebration will reflect the spirit of innovation and creativity cultivated throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the Company’s deepened commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with the recent formation of ABT RISE (Representation and Inclusion Sustain Excellence).”
