Ballet West opens Artistic Director Adam Sklute’s Swan Lake tonight in Salt Lake City but as anyone in marketing knows, planning for a ballet starts way before it hits the stage. In a day and age when Photoshop seems to be every social media user’s best friend, it is so fantastic to see people actually making sacrifices in order to get just the right photo. A year and a half ago, artists from Ballet West donned in full costume (except pointe shoes, I assume…and hope!) bravely endured chilly waters so that photographer Beau Pearson could create what would eventually become the company’s Swan Lake campaign images. Check out a few snapshots below of the photo shoot as well as one of the final products. Thank you, Ballet West, for proving that some things you see on the internet are indeed real.
