The Boston Ballet 2019-2020 Season showcases the company’s broad range. Artistic Director, Mikko Nissinen, has curated a season full of classical favorites, dynamic contemporary ballets, and world premieres.

“Our upcoming season dances on the edge of what ballet can be by showcasing the classics like Giselle and Swan Lake while moving the artform forward with new and contemporary works by today’s most sought-after choreographers—Forsythe, Kylián, Elo, Pickett, and Galloway.”

– Mikko Nissinen, Artistic Director  of Boston Ballet

Giselle, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake are the highlights of next season’s classical repertoire; Larissa Ponomarenko, the company’s Ballet Master and former ballerina, will be staging her vision of Giselle, the company will continue their annual holiday tradition of performing Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, and audience-favorite Swan Lake will return to the stage for the third time. Contemporary works by George Balanchine, Jorma Elo, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Helen Pickett, and Jerome Robbins will be featured among three mixed programs. And Stephen Galloway will premiere his Dance Part 3.
