The Dance Theatre of Harlem 50th Anniversary Tour and Season honors the life of Arthur Mitchell, one of the company’s co-founding Artistic Directors. In celebration, Virginia Johnson and Anna Glass, Artistic and Executive Directors, respectively, have curated a 19-month tour that is highlighted by the company’s New York Season at City Center; the Vision Gala on April 10th will be held in Mr. Mitchell’s honor.
Featured in cities across the United States will be commissioned works by Pam Tanowitz, Claudia Schreier with Composer Jessie Montgomery, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and DTH Resident Choreographer Robert Garland, as well as collaborations with Miami City Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Peter London Global Dance Company and Collage Dance Collective.
