On February 4, 2023, New York City Ballet Principal Dancer Jared Angle will give his final performance with the company dancing the role of Ivan in George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins’ Firebird.
Along with his farewell show, Angle is scheduled to dance in all performances of Firebird during the 2023 Winter Season after which he will join Royal Danish Ballet in Copenhagen as a Ballet Master
Jared Angle rose through the ranks of New York City Ballet after joining the School of American Ballet in 1996; he ultimately earned Principal status in 2005.
During his 25 years with the company, Angle has been featured in works by Balanchine, Robbins, Justin Peck, Alexei Ratmansky and Christopher Wheeldon, among others. He has also originated roles in works by choreographers Melissa Barak, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Peter Martins, Benjamin Millepied, Peck, Richard Tanner, and Wheeldon.
