Joining in time for the start of the Sarasota Ballet’s 2023-2024 season is Jennifer Hackbarth, most recently a dancer with Dresden Semperoper Ballet in Germany.
The Milwaukee native will be a principal dancer with the Florida-based ballet company and, according to a communication from Sarasota Ballet, is looking forward to dancing more Balanchine works this coming year along with developing her artistry in ballets by Sir Frederick Ashton.
Assistant Director of The Sarasota Ballet, Margaret Barbieri, adds:
“I am thrilled that Jennifer is joining our Company, and I am very much looking forward to working with her. In watching her perform, her love of the artform was evident, as was her sheer enjoyment of dancing even in the classroom.
She has a very strong technique and a beautiful dance quality. Her movement is expansive, and she possesses an elegant articulation of her feet and legs.
Jennifer will be a valuable lead member of our Company for this Season and many more. We are all eager to watch her continue to grow and flourish as a part of The Sarasota Ballet family.”
