Northern Ballet’s Nutcracker, a beloved seasonal tradition choreographed by former Artistic Director David Nixon CBE, is set to grace the stage once more at Leeds Grand Theatre this November.
Following a triumphant run last year that saw multiple sold-out performances, this enchanting ballet will transport audiences into a wintery world of wonder and delight, the dancing set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic score played by the Northern Ballet Sinfonia.
The Nutcracker weaves the captivating tale of Clara and her wooden Nutcracker doll, which holds secrets beyond imagination. At the stroke of midnight, Clara embarks on a fantastical journey through a magical winter realm adorned with twirling snowflakes and an array of vibrant characters.
An emblematic symbol of the holiday season, The Nutcracker has enchanted audiences, both young and old, for over a century. It serves as an ideal introduction to classical ballet, offering a little something for everyone – from the iconic Sugar Plum Fairy’s dance to the epic showdown between the valiant Nutcracker Prince and the menacing Mouse King.
All performances of Northern Ballet’s Nutcracker will take place at Leeds Grand Theatre.
