San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker, choreographed by Helgi Tomasson, returns in December to fill the War Memorial Opera House with holiday joy and Tchaikovsky’s iconic score.
In the vibrant backdrop of early 20th century San Francisco, a timeless masterpiece comes to life on stage (in fact, San Francisco Ballet was the first American ballet company to produce The Nutcracker back in 1944). Tomasson’s version has captured hearts for generations, showcasing the company’s dancers set within a stunning visual feast created by a recognized team of artists.
Scenic design was created by the Tony Award-winning designer, Michael Yeargan, costume design by Tony Award-winning designer Martin Pakledinaz, and James F. Ingalls’ lighting design.
