Under the Artistic Direction of Artem Yachmennikov, a State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine tour is bringing three of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov’s most well-known ballets to all corners of North America.
In December, the company will continue their run of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, as well as two epitomes of the classical ballet canon – Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty.
The performances, which run through May 2025, boasts brand new hand-painted sets for The Nutcracker and The Sleeping Beauty to complement the more than 200 costumes created specifically for these performances. Founder of Classical Arts Entertainment (the producer of the tour) Michael Art shares:
“When creating our productions, we wanted to give the audience an unforgettable experience, immerse them in a fairy tale, and help them believe in miracles.
Our main task is for the audience to get mesmerized by these amazing performances and want to come to the theater again. We are confident that the performances will interest audiences of all ages. After all, we all need a real fairy tale in our lives!”
In 20+ venues across Florida, New Mexico, Washington, Missouri, and California, the ballet troupe of fifty artists will be accompanied by a live symphony orchestra playing Tchaikovsky’s iconic scores under the baton of Aaron Collins.
