Four years ago, Artistic Director Tamas Detrich created a series for his company to feature world premieres and this year, Stuttgart Ballet’s Creations XIII-XV program is no different.
This season’s edition highlights three female choreographers – Vittoria Girelli, Samantha Lynch and Morgann Runacre-Temple – whose unique backgrounds are sure to bring creative diversity to the evening.
Gierelli, a Demi-Soloist with Stuttgart Ballet, will choreograph her fourth new work for the company following the success of Chrysalis (2020), Self- Deceit (2022) and In Esisto (2023). At 25 years-old, she “seems to capture the Zeitgeist of her generation in terms of mood and aesthetics.”
Lynch is working on her first piece for a German company, although it is not her initiation into dance creation. She is the founder and director of NNB RAW, a dancer’s choreography workshop at Norwegian National Ballet where she is a Principal Dancer.
Runacre-Temple visits Stuttgart Ballet for the second time, her inaugural work for the company part of the 2019 Noverre: Young Choreographers program. In addition to her Resident Choreographer of Ballet Ireland position which she held from 2009 to 2015, she has created for Northern Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Scottish Ballet, English National Ballet, and Ballet Central.
All performances of Creations XIII-XV will be performed at the Stuttgart Playhouse.
