Tribute to Karen Kain

Tribute to Karen Kain

Distinguished leaders, choreographers, and dancers who have worked by her side and under her leadership create a video tribute to Karen Kain whose reign as Artistic Director of The National Ballet of Canada ends on June 30, 2021.

Their heartfelt messages of love, admiration, and respect for Ms. Kain radiate as they share their gratitude for her vision, artistry, and contribution to the ballet art form in Canada and beyond.

Ms. Kain’s association with The National Ballet of Canada spans over half a century. She was a dancer who rose through the company ranks at lightning speed; she was promoted from a corps de ballet member to principal dancer in just a few years after a standout performance as Odette/Odile in Swan Lake.

The video below captures the sentiments of her artistic family as well as snapshots and short clips from her career.
