In Ben Stevenson’s Alice In Wonderland, which will be performed by Texas Ballet Theater later this month, the narrator is the protagonist herself.
The Fort Worth based ballet company closes their 2022-2023 season with a production of the surreal Lewis Carroll tale choreographed by their Artistic Director Laureate. Interestingly, this version includes… speaking.
“Alice opens the story with dialogue and continues to further the story with the spoken word,” TBT Acting Artistic Director Tim O’Keefe said. “This is a unique challenge for the dancers, who are used to expressing themselves through movement. The dialogue is both an exciting venture for the dancers and another layer of storytelling for the audience.”
Ben Stevenson’s Alice in Wonderland will be performed in both Dallas and Fort Worth.
