The Kansas City Ballet 2026-2027 season features three story ballets – The Wizard of Oz, The Nutcracker, and Romeo and Juliet – plus works by master choreographers George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins. A world premiere by Melissa Hough and the New Moves program highlighting new creations rounds out the year.

“I’m thrilled to present an extraordinary season that brings world-renowned masterpieces and exciting new works to our Kansas City audience.

From Septime Webre’s The Wizard of Oz and our beloved holiday tradition The Nutcracker to the return of Kansas City Ballet’s Romeo & Juliet, this season is a true celebration of dance and storytelling.

PULSE will trace ballet’s past, present, and future through a bold three-part program featuring Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments, Jerome Robbins’ Glass Pieces, and a world premiere by acclaimed choreographer Melissa Hough.

New Moves returns with dynamic works by rising choreographers, and our family-friendly series continues with Pinocchio.

It’s a jam-packed, highly dynamic season filled with unforgettable dance experiences—you won’t want to miss a single performance.”

“I’m thrilled to be presenting such an incredible lineup of world-renowned works and newly minted creations to our devoted audiences in my 13th season as Kansas City Ballet’s artistic director.

This season is a true celebration of dance, showcasing both timeless masterpieces and exciting new visions. From the return of the iconic Swan Lake to the vibrant energy of Stars and Stripes, featuring works by George Balanchine and Agnes de Mille, and a fresh, exciting world premiere by Caili Quan, there is something for everyone.

We’re also delighted to bring the Kansas City premiere of The Great Gatsby to the stage and introduce our latest family-friendly production, Snow White. With the return of New Moves and our beloved The Nutcracker, we are ready to bring joy and inspiration to our community.

I can’t wait to share these unforgettable experiences with you all and continue Kansas City Ballet’s legacy of excellence on stage.”
